Climate Commitment
We clean up after ourselves.
Ecommerce deliveries have a carbon footprint. That's why we support cutting-edge companies that remove carbon from the air.
Together, participating businesses have…
- Removed thousands of tonnes of carbon from the atmosphere
- Provided carbon-neutral shipping on more than ten million orders
Here's how it works: For every order we receive, a formula is used to calculate the estimated shipping emissions. Based on those estimates, a portion of our revenue goes to carbon removal companies that have been vetted by scientists from Carbon Direct. Those companies use that money to remove however much carbon our shipments created. Any extra funds go toward the further development of carbon removal technologies.
Let's meet a few of the companies removing carbon from the sky.
Grassroots Carbon
Grassroots Carbon helps ranchers modify land management practices to improve soil and ecological health, which captures and stores more carbon in soil.
Grassroots Carbon is a leader in the soil carbon removal space, connecting ranchers with companies seeking high-quality, nature-based carbon credits. The company works with regenerative land managers, focusing on improving soil health through rotational grazing and sustainable practices that enhance carbon sequestration. This approach not only helps restore ecosystems but also supports ranchers by offering financial incentives for adopting regenerative practices.
By measuring, verifying, and certifying soil carbon storage, Grassroots Carbon provides companies with verified carbon removal credits that help them meet their sustainability goals. Microsoft, among other corporations, has partnered with Grassroots Carbon to invest in these credits, recognizing the importance of soil as a critical component of the climate solution.
Grassroots Carbon’s mission is to combat climate change by turning grasslands into carbon sinks, helping sequester carbon dioxide while supporting the long-term health of ecosystems. With over 41% of U.S. grasslands used for livestock grazing, the company sees immense potential in transitioning to regenerative practices that benefit both the environment and landowners. Their model is built on transparency, ensuring ranchers get fair compensation while providing a reliable solution for businesses to reduce their carbon footprints.
Through innovative partnerships and regenerative land management, Grassroots Carbon is at the forefront of driving sustainable change in the agricultural and carbon markets.
Mast Reforestation
Mast Reforestation is at the forefront of tackling one of the most pressing environmental challenges of our time: restoring forests devastated by wildfires and climate change. Initially founded as DroneSeed in 2016, the company pioneered the use of drone technology to aid large-scale reforestation by deploying seed vessels in wildfire-affected areas. These advanced drones can cover vast landscapes, planting seeds efficiently and quickly, a critical need in regions where traditional reforestation methods fall short.
Over time, Mast expanded its operations by acquiring key industry players like Silvaseed, a seed supplier, and Cal Forest Nursery, enabling it to build the largest vertically integrated reforestation supply chain in the western United States. This comprehensive approach allows Mast to manage every aspect of the reforestation process, from seed sourcing to planting, ensuring a streamlined, scalable solution to forest regeneration
The name “Mast” refers to a natural phenomenon in which trees in the same region produce abundant seeds during certain years. This symbolism reflects the company’s mission to restore forest ecosystems and address the challenges of scaling up reforestation efforts. Mast focuses on growing climate-adapted forests, using sustainable practices to ensure long-term resilience in the face of increasing wildfire threats and environmental changes
